Week 19 takes Vin east of the Rockies, but there’s a very long way to go before the Atlantic coast. He tries to speed up and increase his miles per day, gets caught in massive thunder storms, and also meets up with an old friend.

Vin’s got the worst jetlag yet. It’s a welcome return to fresh fruit and warm sunny days in California, and Vin finds the mountains and history motivating as he heads east.

Week 10/11 sees Vin starting out through Indonesia, arriving in Sumatra just a few days after an earthquake making road conditions tricky. Week 8/9 sees Vin arriving in Thailand and meeting some old friends, the first familiar faces for some 5000 miles. His travels then take him down through Thailand and Malaysia, before a final stop with friends/family in Singapore and the flight on to Indonesia.
